KPN will provide Internet networking for Telefonia Bonairiano, a carrier on the island of Bonaire of Netherlands Antilles. The Dutch telecom group said that it will allow Telbo to connect the island to KPN's network center in New York in addition to providing voice over Internet protocol as a means to provide more efficient connection services at a lower price. "Our proposal convinced Telbo to run their business via a new,
innovative approach. We built up an excellent relationship with Telbo and our
solution created a unique opportunity for them to enhance their business growth.
Moreover it benefits their end users as well by providing them with additional
services. This concept should also be very interesting for other carriers around
the world who want to increase revenues from new international markets,"
said Carolien Nijhuis, vice president of international network services at KPN.
