Fixed WiMAX sales to peak in 2007; Mobile WiMAX to kick-off deployment

United States – Fixed WiMAX sales will hit its peak and then level off in 2007, while mobile WiMAX will start to see deployments during the same period, projected ABI Research. The crossover point between the two will be late in 2008.

The market research firm added that considering that it takes a year to design ASICs and then more time to design them into end-equipment, vendors need to be discussing the required tradeoffs in their strategy meetings now.
